Evan Kramer has been a trial lawyer in Texas for more than twenty-five years. After growing up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle, Evan moved to Houston in 1981 to attend Rice University on a National Merit Scholarship. Upon graduating from Rice, Evan received a full scholarship to Texas Tech University School of Law, where he was a published editor on the Texas Tech Law Review and a member of the Board of Barristers. He obtained his law degree in 1989 and was licensed to practice law in 1990.
Evan began his legal career working as the Briefing Attorney for Justice Paul Murphy on the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston and then spent more than twenty years in private practice as a defense attorney with Texas law firms and as in-house regional counsel for a major insurance company. During this time, Evan’s experience included the following:
- Attorney-in-charge for Texas and much of Central and South America for Ford Motor Company in Firestone ATX multi-district products liability litigation;
- In-house regional counsel for Fortune 100 insurer responsible for managing personal lines and commercial litigation throughout Texas;
- Tried to defense verdicts product liability claims for major tire and automotive manufacturers involving wrongful death, quadriplegia, traumatic brain injury and other serious personal injury claims in state and federal venues across Texas; and
- Represented local and national commercial transportation companies in cases involving aggravated circumstances.
Over the past twenty-five years, Evan has gained substantial trial experience, successfully trying numerous serious personal injury cases before juries in federal and state courts across Texas. He also has significant experience in negotiating settlement agreements and has served as principal counsel in more than 500 mediations of high-exposure personal injury claims.
Based on his experience representing global corporations and their insurers, Evan has developed an insider’s knowledge of how the defense machine operates, and he understands their strategies, how they evaluate risk, and the pressure points they aim to protect. Today, Evan uses this knowledge to position his clients for the greatest possible success in every case he handles.
